Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some commonly asked questions about our preschool program!

How many children are in each program?

In each program there are 16 children. Our morning program consists of 2 young spots (children 2- 2.5) and 14 children 2.5+.
Our SPARK program is intended for children that will be heading to kindergarten within the next year.

What is the staff to child Ratio?

Our programs consist of 3 Early Childhood Educators to 16 children.

Does Parent Participating mean I will attend the Program with my child?

No it does not! Though we have an open door policy on the first day of the program, you will not attend Moppet with your child. Parent participating means that our preschool is run by a board of parents. Each family is assigned a committee role for the year, based on availability and skill sets. While some committee positions require your presence in the classroom (such as classroom photographer or snack coordinator), others require only evening commitments (such as social committee). A committee role can also include an elected seat on our executive board, which meets monthly, and handles all aspects of running the business side of our preschool.

If I want to go on vacation will my spot be held for me when I return?

If you are planning a trip, you still need to pay your program fees while you are away. If you are wanting to withdraw from the program you will need to do so before the end of February, otherwise you will need to pay for the remainder of the year. The reason for this is that it can be difficult to fill a spot with limited time left in the school year.
