Holly Marcella
Program Director
Holly Marcella is a caring Early Childhood Educator with over a decade of experience working with children. Since graduating from the Early Childhood Education program at Conestoga College in 2013, Holly has built positive relationships with the children she cares for as well as with their families, reflecting her belief that it takes a community to raise a child. Holly creates a positive environment for children to learn, grow, and be themselves. Her ability to observe children’s interests allows their curiosities to direct play-based learning in the classroom. She enjoys learning from the children just as much as they learn from her!
Holly loves music of all genres and finds it therapeutic for adults and children alike. She often plays music in the classroom, including children’s music, classical, or even jazz! On weekends, she enjoys hiking local trails with her family or spending time together at home with their tuxedo cat Theo, who is 18 years old, but still young at heart.
Kate Harris
Teacher
Kate Harris is a dedicated Early Childhood Educator who has been working with children since her placement in a kindergarten classroom while she was in high school. In addition to earning her degree from Conestoga College in 2022, she has continued her education by completing mentor and leadership training as well as infant mental health training. The meaningful connections she made with her own teachers in childhood are part of what inspired her to pursue Early Childhood Education, and she loves to provide a safe, enriching, and positive classroom environment for children to have their first experiences away from home.
During her spare time she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, friends and family, and taking walks with her puppy Moose. She is also on an accessible all ages hockey team and loves reading a good book – The English Roses has been her favourite book since childhood!
Katarina Cenerelli
Teacher’s Assistant
Katarina Cenerelli is a passionate early childhood educator with a degree in Community Integration Through Cooperative Education, specializing in Early Childhood Education. She graduated in 2017 and completed a cooperative placement at Moppet Preschool, where she now works as a Teacher’s Assistant. From an early age, Katarina knew she wanted to work with children, and her high school experience in cooperative education with kindergarten classes helped solidify her career path.
As an introvert, Katarina connects deeply with quieter children, offering them a sense of comfort and understanding in the classroom. She believes in the power of play-based learning, which keeps children engaged and excited about their education. Outside of work, Katarina enjoys video games, binge-watching TV series (with Supernatural as a favorite), playing slo-pitch, and watching sports. A proud Harry Potter fan, she collects memorabilia from the wizarding world. She also enjoys a diverse mix of music, including country, pop, and punk rock. One of Katarina’s favorite children’s authors is Dr. Seuss, whose imaginative books continue to inspire her approach to teaching. At home, she has two adorable 4-year-old cats named Presley and Elvis.
