Our Philosophy
At Moppet Preschool, the emphasis is on play and socialization. We believe that children learn best through play. With the loving guidance of trained staff, children will learn how to communicate, problem solve and cooperate with peers.
Children will improve in their physical development by participating in activities that incorporate gross motor and fine motor skills. Children will have opportunities to work through their emotions, express themselves and learn how to self-regulate. They will gain self-esteem and decision making capabilities. Play experiences will stimulate curiosity and a sense of wonder.
Our goal is for the children to feel safe, welcome and secure while at Moppet. Our hope is that our positive and fun learning environment will instil a lifelong love of learning.
Our Programs
Our program runs from September to June, and generally follows the Waterloo Region District School Board calendar.
Annual membership is $40 per family, payable at the time of registration. Your family may be eligible for a fee subsidy from the Region of Waterloo. Please follow the link to their website for more information.
Children between 2 and 4 years old
3 day (Tues.-Thurs.) or 4 day (Mon.-Thurs.) from 9:10 to 11:40AM
The curriculum includes opportunities to strengthen fine and gross motor skills, sensory and science opportunities, language, math, creative art and dramatic play.
Children between 3 and 5 years old
3 day (Tues.-Thurs.) or 4 day (Mon.-Thurs.) from 12:25 to 3:10PM or 5 day (Mon.-Thurs. afternoons, Fri. from 9:10 to 11:55AM)
The foundation of this program is learning through play and exploration. Children will discover letters, numbers, science and music through fun, hands-on activities.
Fee Schedule
Monthly fees are subject to change, can be paid by cheque or electronic funds transfer.
